Third times a charm! Just as the "Stab Your Friends" completion date was centered around the Midwestern Vans Warped Tour spots, the label received the added pressure of releasing in time for the Bonner Springs/Kansas City Warped date, as FOUR Lincoln bands, all featured on the compilation, were going to be showcased at the Ernie Ball stage. Youth In Asia, Good With Guns, Same Old Crap, and the JV Allstars beat out bands from all over the Midwest to share the stage.
The bands graciously accepted their *limit one* free waters, and cranked out an hour of fifteen minute sets, rushing their guitars to their trailers so the album promotion could really begin. Comp artists and label crew alike, complete with the super surfer babe from the album cover, hustled in the blistering heat getting the album out to as many new listeners as possible.
Highlights included watching Boston's Big D & The Kids Table playing three total sets that afternoon, sneaking onto the Kevin Says stage, and one other aside from their actually scheduled gig, group sunburns, and the drummer from the Cover Story stealing a bottle of water from a kid only to discover deep chug that it was six dollar vodka. Blech.
Extra thanks to top dogs in the Gamits, Show Is The Rainbow, and Ludo for giving us relatively brand new tunes, we were so out of your leagues and your tracks soar. <3
